Berwick Legion Medical Alert Program is a partnership between Royal Canadian Legion, Ortona Branch#69 and Paul Ward of Berwick, NS that was formed in 2008.
The Legion leases and sells Personal Medical Alarms to clients of Kings County. The Legion installers ensures their clients understands the operation and purpose of the equipment and encourage them the press their Personal Help Button when in need. They visit their clients periodically and offer text messaging for the client’s family. They offer short term leases for those in need who might have recently had hip surgery or other short term need.
Paul Ward is the Manager, and has operated a Personal Emergency Response Service since 2001. He retired in 1998 from Grandview Manor, a Senior Facility, as the Office Manager after 18 years.
